Hired Projects 〰️
Below you’ll find sections that explore the projects I was hired for in detail. Between the process and the deliverables, I offer insight to my work flow and offerings!
International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 at Millersville University
This project was a lot of fun! The co-chairs of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women and I worked together to develop an understanding of their needs and requirements for this event. With little to no attendance at the IWD events in years past, the clients were looking to lean into a welcoming, authentic, and colorful vibe to attract students, faculty, and staff. Through scheduled calls and inpromptu dinner meetings we decided to focus on using shades of Millersville University’s gold, and IWD’s purple as our main color theme and use inclusive language throughtout all communications.
In the end, we delivered a Logo and Font suite that included a usage guide for independent creation. A T-shirt and Tote Bag merch design for outside vendor purchasing that were used as free gifts for vendors and event participants. Finally, we delivered the marketing for the event that included save the date and invitation emails, and digital and physical flyers.
A key feature of this project is the paper art used in conjunction with digital text. As we were unfortunately working under a time crunch, the original idea for watercolor or paperart text had to be shelved in favor of digital. In the future we hope to expand upon the ideas I had with adequate time and resources.
The first step of this project was outlining who they were trying to reach and how we would communicate the intent of an improved event to that audience. The second was identifying what was most important to them in this process and prioritizing from there. This project was a constant reminder that you can do anything, just not everything! Finally, I drew up a rough draft for their save the dates, invites, and flyers so they would be cohesive to each other and the event before getting approval to work on the deliverables. Find these items in the images below!
Digital Assets for Email Marketing
Cut by hand then attached using glue before scanning them for digital use.
Internal Save the Date Email
We used a very similar design for both physical and digital versions of the flyer for recognition across campus and to meet our tight deadlines.
Physical Deliverables
The process for making the Welcome Sign [completed object image unavailable because I am unfortunately bad at content creation]
The copy for this email was written specifically for staff and faculty of Millersville University. We focused on familiar language as all recipients would be knowledgable of the event and location. The vendor email used welcoming language and a strong call to action to gain as many businesses and nonprofits as possible.
Physical and Digital Flyers
A part of the package they asked for were physical items to be given out or used during the event. This included designs for a tote bag and t-shirt to be ordered seperately, a flyer for the history of the word woman, and a design for table tents that could be assembled by volunteers. Finally they asked for physical thank you cards to give to the speakers and other comissions at the university as their support made the event possible.
Thank you gift
Each Co-Chair received a custom event t-shirt as a thank you freebie for trusting me with the creative and marketing for their event!
